This textbook for Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair is great in coverage for the scope of work of a G1 MLR technician. Here you wil learn the theory, construction, operation of ALL automotive systems, and for some systems how to service them, for the suspension, steering, brake systems the textbook doesn't cover servicing those, why? because this book was designed to be used with an electronic platform by the publisher, which requires a subscription to access a 60 labs hands on experience, btw the electronic platform is named: Hands-On Maintenance and Light Repair, which is designed along with this textbook to be used at a school program.It's great on its own merits, I like the book, I read it, it's great, but since there's no printed Shop Manual for this great book, I purchased on the side several Today's Technician Automotive Shop Manuals for (1)Suspension Sytems, (2)Brake Systems, (3)Electrical and Electronics Systems, (4)Engine Performance, (5)Basic Automotive Service and Systems, mostly from 2014-2017 editions to keep current updated. These Shop Manuals are Great as a side printed Hands On Manuals learning aids, since I don't intend to buy the online lab subscription for the book in review.I hope the publisher may in the future, print a companion shop manual to this book. As for the Shop Manuals mentioned, I recommend, get them, they're worth it, along with their class manuals also, they will enrich your home Automotive bookshelf, read them, study them, master them, and make the best of your Automotive Career, success!______________________________________Update: I'm using this book to study in a hurry, short timed for a state license exam in a few days. I switched from a bigger automotive book to this one because I'm short on days to study, so this book is scaled down, abridged, more concise than the bigger book, so it explains everything right to the point, but complete in much fewer pages. I get all concepts well explained on design, construction, operation and diagnosis-repair in the shorter number of pages possible without missing the necessary to go to the exam.At 976 pages length is a scaled down manageable textbook to work on for continuous review and study of automotive operation principles, what misses on this I can find it on the bigger book as needed.Great book to learn and master Automotive Technology principles and operation, and for exam prep!Update 2: as of December 2nd, 2021, I passed the Automotive Technician State License Exam for license renewal!
