I bought this fixture just about a year ago (for $157 on Amazon), and I was just about to purchase another one, along with a 4 or 5-light version. Just a few days ago, the price for this same fixture was about $166, but I waited while deciding whether the second fixture should have 4 or 5 lights. Today I was going to order both a 3-light and a 5-light fixture; you can imagine my shock when the $166 price for the 3-light fixture from late last week was $200.20 today, about a 25% increase! Similarly, the 4-light fixture which was $219 a few days ago is now around $266. I know the prices can vary daily, but the idea of nearly $90 extra for the same products within a few days has really given me pause. I don't think this is Amazon's pricing, as the prices were identical for every source I found. I think I will wait a while and see if the dust settles. As for the light fixture itself, I felt it was a very good purchase (at least at $157 last year). The metal was substantial and nicely finished, and the glass etched shades were in perfect condition. The only issue was that I didn't realize how very small the 24 inch width would be (measured from end to end along the shades. I was replacing a 48-inch 6-bulb "Hollywood globe" style fixture that was centered over a 50" counter in the guest bathroom that had a sink at one end, a mirror the length of the counter, and a medicine cabinet on the end wall farthest from the sink. So although I made do for a while with the 3-light Kichler fixture by using bright bulbs, it really isn't enough to adequately light that much space. We eventually decided to get a second 3-light fixture (as suggested by our electrician) and move both of the small fixtures to our master bath, with has a similar setup but a longer counter with sinks at both ends, and then each sink plus the general area would be well lit. At the same time, we would replace the first 3-light, 24-inch fixture from the guest bath (as noted above) with either a 4-light, 34 inch fixture or a 5-light, 43 inch fixture of the same brand and style. We had just settled on the 5-light fixture, which I'm sure will provide plenty of light--at least until today! I really like these fixtures better than others I've seen, but as noted above, I'm rethinking things because the price increase was so sudden and substantial. We shall see.We liked the option to install the lights facing up or down. We chose to have ours facing down, mostly for ease of changing bulbs, plus we can also avoid having to deal with dead stinkbugs as we do with upward-facing lights. I can't speak about the ease of installation because we had an electrician do the work (we were intimidated by the fact that the circuit ended right where the light was supposed to go, but the electrician said it was no problem. If we proceed with our replace and move plans and do it ourselves, I may update this review.Love this light!! Perfect for our recently renovated master bathroom. Exactly what we needed above our vanity. Solid heavy structure, classic brushed nickel finish, & the glass globes are easy to access the bulb & for cleaning. Very pleased with this purchase.Very pretty and fashionable. Gives off plenty of light. Can be hung with lights facing up or down. Difficult to install. So beautiful over my fireplace mantle!! Easy to install and a great light source!Upon installation of this fixture, when I went to put on the glass globes...two of them would not fit onto the base due to the opening in the glass. I had to carefully use a Dremel with a grinding bit to clean the glass casting to fit onto the fixture. Also several of the pendants had to be carefully straightened as they were crooked. I was very disappointed with the quality of the fixture. With the price of this fixture and the Kichler name you would think they would have a higher level of quality assurance. That being said...after all of the corrections I had to make...the fixture looks nice now that its installed. We spent many, many days looking for the right lighting for our new home and ran across these at a local store. After some research we decided to take the plunge and bought several Kichler matching pieces for the kitchen, dining, entry, hall, baths, etc.... not cheap, but super nice and super high quality. The builder's electrician said it was all top quality and he enjoyed installing these verses some of the cheap stuff out there. Everything from Kichler came as promised and we have no issues with any of the pieces purchased. I would recommend these if you want high quality lighting and I would buy them again, if I had to do it all over.Side note, these can be mounted up or down... we chose down for our vanity lights and they work awesome.Purchased the chrome 5 light - planned on mounting it in the down position, but most of the light fixtures leaned inwards, making the all of the glass fixtures appear crooked. Decided to try the fixture in the up position, and it seemed to look ok. ALSO, two of the chrome circular pieces were slightly bent, AND a couple of the light bulb receptacles were bent. I wasn’t expecting this low of quality for a $400 KICHLER fixture. After a few adjustments, the fixture is close to perfect. With the right bulbs, the fixture and light has completely changed the look of our master bath. Undecided if I’d purchase again - would’ve returned, but I had already disposed of the box and packaging. We renovated our master bath and needed a light fixture to go with the contemporary look we were going for. This light fixture provided that look and with the open top design, the light is directed mostly upwards so your face gets indirect illumination.Love this light!!!! You probably don't want 100W bulbs....I tried and it was way too bright. 60W or 40W bulbs (LED equivalents) give off a really nice glow.
