Directions are VERY poor. No written directions, just a single visual diagram. They give you a mounting plate, but not the screws to attach it to your electrical box. Then the screws that come from behind the mounting plate which then are used to attach the fixture to the wall are too long. I'm confused how this could be, as this should be a fixed dimension, not subject to wall conditions. These screws are the ones that you would then put the decorative nuts on that are visible from the finished product, but since the screws are about 1/2" too long, the fixture just flops forward since it isn't being held against the wall. We are now in the process of trying to find appropriate washers or spacers to put on the backside of the plate, but we will need many to build up to 1/2". Otherwise I'm happy.I installed this light fixture with openings pointed down because my girl friend threatened to use my bathroom in the morning if there wasn't enough light. With three 60 watt bulbs, there was actually too much light. I just ordered 40 watt bulbs. In one of the reviews, someone pointed out that with the lights pointed down, I wouldn't have to worry about bugs. That made sense to me.This fixture was easy to install and came with everything needed except wall anchors (my wires came through the wall, but I have no idea if there is even a box inside the wall). The instructions were virtually nonexistent, but the pictures were good enough that I was able to figure out how to mount it correctly.We are very pleased with the appearance and I will probably buy another one of these for my bathroom.Very easy to install. Modern looking 3 bulb fixture allows for great lighting. A good value for the price.This fixture looks very nice in my bathroom. I hung it with the shades in the down-facing position so it won't collect bugs. It was no problem at all. As I live near the ocean, I coated the metal parts with 3 coats of automotive clear lacquer spray in a can to keep it from rusting. The white parts of the shades are not exactly bright white, they are more translucent so appear a bit gray when the lights are not on. I wish that were not the case. Other than that, I love it.I bought this for my tiny bathroom for maximum light. I definitely got that. I use the LED bulbs so I'm not nearly close to the watt limit. I installed it facing up but also works facing down. But short bulbs if you don't want to see them sticking out. Bulbs have improved quite a bit these last couple of years so finding them shouldn't be an issue.I ordered two of these lights to go over a double vanity sink base in our bathroom. My husband installed the lights. They were easy to install but they are heavy lights so he re-supported the space before instillation. As we had virtually torn up the bathroom it was easy to do. We actually pointed the shaded down. I thought this gave better light for brushing and make-up but still kept the bathroom bright. The lights can go either up or down. When up they illuminated the ceiling more than anything else.this light fixture looks very modern and clean looking. the glass are bigger and heavier than I thought. installed this facing down to avoid dust build up and was a bit concerned it would start bowing down from the weight but it did not. used high efficiency lights, made my powder bathroom bright and chic.My bath room look fancy , cute very pretty and I can see clear to put my make up.on.iam so happy with this purchase.
